THE CHALLENGE

Texting and driving is a bad habit that remains prevalent, with distracted driving estimated to be a contributing factor in 25% to 50% of traffic accidents. Around public holidays, the prevalence of accidents on the road inevitably increases.

THE DISCUSSION

Road safety messages are necessary periodically, in order to remind the public of what’s at stake when getting behind the wheel and choosing to make that call or send that text.

SOLUTION

With the holiday season approaching, we took a proactive approach to reminding the public to drive safely. In order to remove the pre-conception that safety messaging is cliché and dated, we created fresh and relatable visuals and messaging for print. It was the only road safety campaign that was focused on discouraging the habit of texting while driving done in partnership with the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe.
